Organization of Naval Air Forces, Eastern Sea Frontier
"The following squadrons to relieve Carrier Replacement Group Nine of Inshore Patrol Duty when ready:
VS-3D1     At NAS Quonset     About 15 August 1942
VS-1D4     At NAS Cape May     About 15 August 1942
VS-2D5     At NAS Norfolk (for Cherry Point)     About 25 August 1942

Operational allowance each squadron, 18 VSO to be transferred from Carrier Replacement Group 9. Personnel will be obtained by splitting squadrons 1D1, 1D3, and 1D5. Additional personnel should be furnished immediately in anticipation of subdivision of these three squadrons. Inform department of commissioning dates. Bureaus and Offices of Navy Department take necessary action to make available personnel and material."

These directives were carried out, with some slight delays for commissioning dates, and by August 31, 1942, the Frontier squadrons relieved not only the Carrier Replacement Squadron but also long-range Fleet planes (PBY's) which had served temporarily under the Commandant of the Fifth Naval District. The Fleet planes In Group 9 were permanently transferred to Inshore Patrol Squadrons of the Frontier.

An even more important shakeup in the relation between Fleet aircraft and Frontier aircraft took place in October 1942. Assignment of aircraft by CominCh to three organizations (Fleets, Frontiers, Naval Districts) had meant confusion of administrative responsibilities insofar as matters of training and logistics were concerned. It seemed desirable to authorize one coordinating head for such administration; to centralize the naval administrative commands for all naval aircraft under the Atlantic Fleet and the Pacific Fleet. On October 17, 1942, CominCh directed that all Inshore Patrol aircraft squadrons should be transferred immediately from the various Naval Districts to the Atlantic or Pacific Fleet, as appropriate. These squadrons thus became Fleet squadrons in the same sense that the other patrol squadrons were.

NOV 12 1942 VS-1D4 assigned to Cape May - Naval Air Station Wildwood, Cape May, NJ

On 1 march 1943 there was a major redesignation of US Navy squadrons.  A revision of the squadron designation system changed Inshore Patrol Squadrons to Scouting Squadrons (VS), Escort Fighting Squadrons (VGF) to Fighting Squadrons (VF), Escort Scouting Squadrons (VGS) to Composite Squadrons (VC) and Patrol Squadrons (VP) operating land type aircraft to Bombing Squadrons (VB). This revision also re-designated carrier Scouting Squadrons (VS) as VB and VC and as a result the types of squadrons on Essex Class carriers was reduced to three. In spite of this change, the aircraft complement of their Air Groups remained at its previous level of 21 VF, 36 VSB and 18 VTB."

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a 1937 American animated film based on Snow White, a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.
Dopey - one of the seven adult dwarfs; Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey, who work in a nearby mine and take in Snow White. Dopey is the only dwarf that does not have a beard. He is clumsy and mute, with Happy explaining that he has simply "never tried to speak".
Disney Notes: A meeting on November 16 1934 resulted in another outline entitled 'Dwarfs Discover Snowwhite', which introduced the character of Dopey, who would ultimately prove to be the most successful and popular of the dwarf characterizations.

It was the first full-length cel-animated feature in motion picture history, as well as the first animated feature film produced in America, the first produced in full color, the first to be produced by Walt Disney, and the first in the Walt Disney Animated Classics canon. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered at the Carthay Circle Theatre on December 21, 1937, and the film was released to theaters by RKO Radio Pictures on February 4, 1938. The story was adapted by storyboard artists Dorothy Ann Blank, Richard Creedon, Merrill De Maris, Otto Englander, Earl Hurd, Dick Rickard, Ted Sears and Webb Smith from the German fairy tale Snow White by the Brothers Grimm. David Hand was the supervising director, while William Cottrell, Wilfred Jackson, Larry Morey, Perce Pearce, and Ben Sharpsteen directed the film's individual sequences. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was one of only two animated films to rank in the American Film Institute's list of the 100 greatest American films of all time in 1997 (the other being Disney's Fantasia), ranking number 49. It achieved a higher ranking (#34) in the list's 2007 update, this time being the only traditionally animated film on the list. The following year AFI would name the film as the greatest American animated film of all time and the best ever Walt Disney Animated Classics movie. In 1989, the film was added to the United States National Film Registry as being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
